Henning Hogmoen and
Mica Eastin helped the Rogers State men's and women's golf teams sweep the Heartland Conference Player of the Week awards as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Hogmoen was named Men's Golf Player of the Week after placing second individually at the Texoma Championship helping the Hillcats to a team victory. The sophomore from Drobak, Norway posted a three-round total of 1-under-par 215, which included a final round 70 where he moved up from fourth to second after rounds of 71 and 74 on day one. Hogmoen led the 63-player field with 12 birdies and added 33 pars during the 54-hole event at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Resort.
Eastin claimed the first-ever Heartland Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week award in program history after winning the Mystic Creek Mulerider Fall Classic Tuesday propelling RSU to the team title. The sophomore carded the best two rounds of the event shooting 84 in the opener Monday following with an 82 in the final round to win the event by six strokes. A native of Carrollton, Texas, Eastin led the tournament with four birdies and 17 pars in 36 holes while also leading in par-four and par-five scoring at Mystic Creek Golf Course.
Both RSU squads are back on the course Oct. 13-14 with the men traveling to Duncan, Oklahoma for the Territory Classic while the women head to Dallas, Texas for the Dallas Baptist Classic.
