Baylor Harvey was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week after winning the OBU Bison Invitational Saturday.
Harvey picked up the first-ever individual title in Hillcat men's cross country history setting a new personal record in the 8k race helping the team to a third-place finish. The sophomore covered the wet and muddy course in a winning time of 25 minutes, 15.83 seconds at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center. He crossed the finish line more than 10 seconds ahead of the next closest finisher in the 80-runner field.
The Oologah, Oklahoma native has led RSU in every meet this season and all events dating back to his arrival on the Hill last fall helping the team to its fastest average team time in school history.
The Hillcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 18, in Wichita Falls, Texas at the Midwestern State Cross Country Carnival.
