WACO, Texas – Rogers State earned another weekly award as
Danko Kenjic was named Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance over a three-match stretch.
The junior continued his torrid scoring pace leading the Hillcats with 17 points on the season with nine points during the week. He was involved in six of RSU's 10 goals for the week and registered his first-career, multi-goal game at Lubbock Christian.
Kenjic added an assist against the Chaps for a career-best five points and followed that performance with a one-goal, two-assist match at Texas-Permian Basin. The Zemun, Serbia native picked up his Heartland Conference and team-leading seventh assist of the year, tying the single-season record for the Hillcats.
The award marked the third time this season that an RSU player earned the men's soccer weekly honor after
Cody Gammill and
Jordan Permaul received the recognition in the opening week.
The Hillcats return to action Saturday for Senior Night at Soldier Field facing Dallas Baptist. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the senior festivities to take place between games of the women's and men's doubleheader.
