WACO, Texas – Rogers State's Hagen Barmasse got the spring season off to a tremendous start earning Heartland Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference Wednesday.
The Houston, Texas native led the Hillcats to a team title posting a second-place finish at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational. The sophomore carded a one-under 71 in the opening round and followed with a one-over 73 for a 144 total after day two's third round was cancelled due to wintry weather.
Barmasse was the only player in the 36-golfer field to shoot under par on the par 4's and finished day one with the most pars of anyone competing with 28. His opening score of 71 was one shot off his career-low round.
The Hillcats are back in action Feb. 17-18 at the San Antonio Shootout held at the TPC San Antonio.
