Harvey Earns Heartland Conference Weekly Award

WACO, Texas – Rogers State men's cross country runner Baylor Harvey was named Heartland Conference Cross Country Player of the Week after his performance at the Southern Stampede Saturday.
 
Harvey ran a personal best at the 8k distance besting his previous time by nearly 24 seconds crossing the finish line in 25 minutes, 37.91 seconds. The sophomore from Oologah, Oklahoma paced the Hillcats finishing 17th overall at a top-heavy event that featured several NCAA Division I programs.
 
The weekly honor marks the first for the RSU cross country program in its second season as a member of the Heartland Conference.
 
As a team, the Hillcats placed 12th finishing ahead of fellow conference teams Oklahoma Christian, UA Fort Smith, and Dallas Baptist.
 
RSU returns to action Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The men will run at 11:30 a.m. in the Men's Maroon II competition at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
