WACO, Texas – Rogers State's
Dylan Beaird was named Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday.
The senior powered the offense for the Hillcats en route to a pair of conference road wins over Lubbock Christian and Texas-Permian Basin, recording three goals and six points for the week.
Beaird continued to add to his Heartland Conference leading goal total by striking for two goals against the Chaps Thursday, including the game winner in the 30th minute, for his third multi-goal game of the season. He followed that performance with an insurance goal at Texas-Permian Basin Saturday, securing the RSU win, and his first weekly award from the conference.
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Beaird now has 10 goals in 12 matches and is three goals off the school's single-season record. His 20 points in 2015 also leads the conference as the Hillcats boast the second-highest scoring offense in the league.
RSU continues a season-long, four-game road trip Thursday in San Antonio, Texas at St. Mary's for a 5 p.m. start.
