WACO, Texas. – Rogers State men's cross country runner
Baylor Harvey was named the Heartland Conference Runner of the Week on Monday by the Heartland Conference. It's the third time Harvey has earned the award this season.
Harvey lowered his own school record on his way to winning the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 8) with a stellar time of 24:40.92 on the 8k course. Harvey's 4:57 per mile pace led the Hillcats to a second-place team finish. The junior from Cleveland, Oklahoma has won three of the four races he has competed in this season, and dating back to the 2014 season, Harvey has won six of his last seven races, including the 2014 Heartland Conference Championship.
The league honor is his fifth runner of the week award in his career as he received the award twice during his sophomore season in 2014.
Harvey looks to repeat as the Heartland Conference champion as the Hillcats travel to the Heartland Conference Championships on Oct. 22 in Mansfield, Texas.
