WACO, Texas – Rogers State goalkeeper
Cody Gammill was named Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday.
Gammill earned the weekly award for the fourth time in his career on the Hill as he backstopped the Hillcats to an unbeaten week. The team continues their quality start to the 2016 campaign behind a pair of shutouts over two difficult opponents and now has a 3-0-1 record.
The junior from Frisco, Texas made two saves in a 1-0 home victory Thursday night over previously undefeated Ouachita Baptist before a one-save shutout in a scoreless draw on the road at nationally-ranked Lindenwood.
Gammill has now given up just one goal in four starts for a 0.27 goals against average this season that ranks fourth in the Heartland Conference and 16th in all of NCAA Division II.
RSU is back in action Sept. 15 as its three-game road swing continues with a conference match at Lubbock Christian.
