Jeylyn Sharpe was named Heartland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 6-13 the league office announced Monday.
After missing Thursday's victory over Lubbock Christian due to flu like symptoms, the Ketchum, Okla. native posted a career high with 30 points in a conference victory over second-place Dallas Baptist. Sharpe added three rebounds, two assists and a steal in his final game inside the Claremore Expo.
The fourth-year Hillcats is averaging 16 points per game for the conference leading Hillcats, good for sixth in the Heartland.
This is the first player of the week honor for Sharpe this season and the first for a Hillcat men's basketball player this season.
Sharpe and Rogers State (18-7, 11-4) travel to Oklahoma Christian on Thursday, February 16 to face the Eagles in the first of three road contests to close out the regular season. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 and the game will be broadcast on RSU Radio 91.3 FM and on the Hillcat Network at
