Tisdale Named Heartland Player of the Week

CLAREMORE, Okla. – For the second straight week a Rogers State Hillcat has been named Heartland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week as senior guard JD Tisdale was announced as the weekly honoree by the league office Monday.

The Flint, Michigan native scored a combined 48 points as RSU went 1-1 in conference play this week. A transfer from Bowling Green State, the senior guard tallied a career-high 30 points in an overtime victory at Oklahoma Christian as he shot 11-of-15 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Tisdale scored 21 of his 30 points in the second half as he finished with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. In Saturday's loss to St. Edward's, Tisdale again led the Hillcats in scoring with 18 points as he went 6-of-9 from the field shooting.

This is the first player of the week honor for Tisdale this season and the second for a Hillcat in as many weeks. Tisdale is second on the team in scoring averaging 15.4 points behind last week's honoree Jeylyn Sharpe.

Rogers State (19-8, 12-5 HC) closes out the regular season on Saturday, February 25 at UA Fort Smith inside the Stubblefield Center with at-least a share of the Heartland Conference Championship on the line. Tip is set for 3 p.m. in Fort Smith, Ark. and the game will be carried on RSU Radio 91.3 FM and the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com/live
