TOPEKA, Kan. – Rogers State men's and women's track and field wrapped up competition at the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

The highlight of the day came in the women's 5,000 meter as
Gloria Butts took third place and finished with a new school record and Division II provisional time of 17:11.46. This time bested the previous school record of 17:38.06, set earlier this season by
Brianna DeAngelis-Stinnett, by a whopping 26.96 seconds and bested Butts' previous personal best by 28.96 seconds. DeAngelis-Stinnett earned points with a 7th place finish in 17:54.96.

In the men's distance medley relay, the team of
Jon Biersdorfer,
Solomon Higgins,
Carlos Vallejo and
Jackson Stinnett finished in seventh with a new school record time of 10:11.53, surpassing the previous record of 10:12.51, set by Biersdorfer, Vallejo,
Ian Conder and
Blake Feron last season.

In the women's distance medley relay, the team of
Tori Wood,
Ann-Marie Dorsey,
Jillian Skalicky and
Cadence Cordova finished just off the podium in fourth with a time of 12:12.10, which is good for the second-best time in program history.

In the men's 5,000 meter,
Kyle Woodward finished in 17th with a new personal best time of 15:28.60, passing his previous best by 0.98 seconds.

In the men's 800 meter,
Ian Conder finished in 11th with a time of 1:54.32.
Blake Feron finished in 16th with a new season best time of 1:56.79, improving his time by 1.97 seconds.

The Hillcats will close out the championships with six more events tomorrow. The first event, the men's mile, is set to start at 1:30 p.m.
