CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State softball had five student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, the organization announced on Monday.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18.
Callie Yellin was named D2CCA Second Team All-Central Region and First Team All-MIAA earlier this season. The Farmersville, Texas product finished the regular season as one of the MIAA's most prolific hitters, with a .310 average and 22 extra base hits. The senior ranked among the top 10 in the MIAA in multiple categories including home runs (15), RBI (47) and slugging percentage (.618). She also led RSU with 36 runs scored.
Abbey Rogers was named NFCA Second Team All-Central Region and Second Team All-MIAA. The Midwest City, Okla. native finished the season hitting .343 at the plate with eight home runs, 35 RBI and 25 runs scored.
Paxton Donaldson was named Second Team All-MIAA. The senior led the Hillcats with a .364 average with two home runs, 22 RBI, 33 runs scored and three stolen bases.
Jade Sanders was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA. The sophomore held a 1.70 ERA in 144.1 innings over 30 appearances and 25 starts with 127 strikeouts. Sanders led the MIAA in the regular season, holding opponents to a measly .174 average. With a 17-4 record, the Stonewall, Okla. native also ranks among the top 10 in the league in ERA, strikeouts, strikeouts looking and wins.
Harley Culie finished the season with a 1.49 ERA in 70.1 innings across 34 appearances and two starts with 67 strikeouts.
College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.
