Sample received a medical redshirt in 2010. Prior to coming to RSU, the Benton, Ark. native spent two seasons at Crowder College where he was named to the NJCAA All-Region team as a sophomore. The Riders won Region 16 during his freshman campaign and Sample was drafted by the Texas Rangers after the season.
