SHAWNEE, Okla. - The heartbreaking losses continued for the RSU baseball Hillcats on Thursday as they were swept by St. Gregory's in a doubleheader at Shawnee, Okla.

For the third time in four games the Hillcats were beaten on a two-out hit in the bottom of the last inning. SGU shortstop Caleb Phillips did the damage this time with a single to right, scoring Chris

Cochran in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 1 and giving the Cavaliers a 3-2 victory. RSU took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Zack Bacon clubbed his first home run of the season. SGU answered with two runs in the bottom of the second and the game remained tied at 2-2 until the seventh inning dramatics. Brent Hill (2-2) suffered the loss for the Hillcats. Hill pitched the entire game and allowed three runs on six hits while striking out nine.

The Hillcats were determined to make amends in Game 2 as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Ryan Littlejohn led off the game with a walk and Andrew Sherman, Eric Bunch and Tim Gwartney followed with three consecutive hits. All four players would eventually score in the inning. The Cavaliers took the lead, 6-5, in the third inning on a three-run homer by Larry Gowder. RSU answered with two runs in the fifth to take a 7-6 advantage, but Gowder added his second homer of the game in the sixth to seal the Hillcats fate as the Cavaliers edged RSU, 11-8.
