OTTAWA, Kan. - The Rogers State men's soccer team earned its fourth win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Ottawa University on the road Friday.
Â
Freshman Carlos Zuta paced the Hillcats with two goals on the afternoon. Des Fitzgerald, Vitor Mantovani and Salim Nelson each tallied one goal for RSU. The Hillcats led 2-0 at the half and were never threatened by Ottawa, who managed just two shots on goal all day.
Â
"This was a great win for our team on the road," said Derek Larkin, RSU head soccer coach. "We were playing without both our captains today and were able to get some other guys some much needed rest."
Â
RSU improved to 4-1-2 on the season and will return home on Saturday to face Southwestern Kan. The match will be held at Soldier Field and is slated for 4 p.m.
