OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Rogers State's nine-game winning streak came to a screeching halt Saturday night as the Hillcats were upended, 5-0 by Oklahoma City University at Stars Field.
John Dill and Jason Gidney scored two goals apiece to lead No. 14 OCU past the Hillcats. Alex Gang converted a penalty kick in the 58th minute to produce the other tally. OCU outshot RSU, 20-7. Andy Fitzpatrick posted five saves to record the shutout for the Stars.
Sean Surridge had four saves for RSU. It marked the first loss in more than a month for the Hillcats, snapping the longest winning streak in program history.
Rogers State (9-2, 1-1) fell into a tie for fourth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference after the loss. The Hillcats return home Tuesday to face Oklahoma Baptist at Soldier Field in Claremore. The match is schedule for 7 p.m.
