Hillcats Stopped by Southern Nazarene, 3-1

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene struck early and never looked back as the Crimson Storm posted a 3-1 victory over Rogers State in the semifinal round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday in Bethany, Okla.
 

Jackie Acevedo scored five minutes and six seconds into the match to give the Storm an early advantage. Rachel Eguren and Bruna De Cas added second half strikes to make it 3-0 before the Hillcats finally broke through.
 

RSU Senior Kendall Clement scored the final goal of her career in the waning moments to avoid the shutout. Clement found the back of the net on an assist from Abby Rickner in the 87th minute. SNU outshout the Cats, 35-11 and posted 11 shots on goal.
 

Bailey Lynn tallied eight saves while yielding two goals for the Hillcats. Jessica McCutcheon allowed the final Crimson Storm goal. SNU keeper Erica Brown recorded four saves in the victory.
 

Rogers State (13-7) completed its third consecutive winning season with a third straight trip to the postseason.
