CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State ran its winning streak to four games with a 12-2 run-rule victory over St. Gregory's Friday afternoon at the Hillcat Complex.

Nine Hillcats combined for 16 hits as RSU reached the run-rule in the bottom of the eighth inning. After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning the Cats rallied with four consecutive two-out hits in the bottom of the frame. Travis Harold and Brandon Denton roped back-to-back doubles and Coby Wright and Zach Hamby followed with singles up the middle.

Blake Kelley slapped an opposite-field home run to lead off the third inning and Rob Rodriguez cranked a two-run shot just three batters later. RSU broke the game open with five runs in the fourth. Hamby made it an 11-1 lead with a solo homer to left in the bottom of the fifth, but the Cavaliers managed an unearned run in the top of the seventh to keep the game alive.

Freshman Kevin Phillips doubled to right field to start the eighth and trotted home on a wild pitch that halted the game via the 10 run-rule.

Grant Cosby (2-2) sailed smoothly through five innings to record his second win of the season. The junior right-hander allowed just one run on five hits while striking out four. Jason Travis gave up one unearned run on two hits over the final three innings.

Kelley and Harold paced the Hillcats with three hits apiece. Wright, Hamby and Rodriguez each tallied two hits. Pate Hubbert (0-5) suffered the loss for St. Gregory's after giving up 10 runs on 14 hits over the first 3.1 innings.

Rogers State (14-9, 3-7) and St. Gregory's (6-18, 0-10) will complete their three-game conference series Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader in Shawnee, Okla. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
