Hillcat Women Whip Oklahoma Wesleyan, 6-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team closed out an impressive weekend with a 6-0 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan (Bartlesville, Okla.) Saturday evening at Soldier Field.

The Hillcats dominated ball possession from the outset, allowing only one shot by the Lady Eagles in the entire match. Junior Kimmia Parker put the finishing touches on a banner week by recording a hat trick to lead the charge.

Parker opened the scoring with two early goals on assists from Sarah Williamson. Emily Givan added a strike right before the half on a pass from Shereen Clarke to make it 3-0 at the break. The Hillcats outshot the Lady Eagles 21-0 in the first half.

Parker completed her second hat trick of the season with a highlight reel goal in the 58th minute of the match. The reigning NAIA National Player of the Week popped the ball up over a defender and then drilled it out of midair into the back of the net. Tiffany Roberts followed with a header to make it 5-0 and Givan capped the scoring with a strike from 30 yards out with less than five minutes remaining.

The Hillcats outshot OWU 36-1 overall and registered 24 shots on goal.

Rogers State (3-0-0) completed a weekend sweep with wins over Our Lady of the Lake and Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Hillcats will hit the road for the first time next week when they travel to Friends University (Wichita, Kan.) Friday and Bethel College (Newton, Kan.) Saturday.
