Hillcats Streak Past Sterling College, 5-1

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State kept its winning streak rolling with a 5-1 victory over Sterling College Tuesday night at Soldier Field.

Senior Luke Helm and junior Des Fitzgerald combined for four of the five Hillcat goals as RSU won its sixth consecutive match. Fitzgerald converted a penalty kick to give the Cats a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest. Helm followed with two quick strikes and RSU found itself with a comfortable three-goal lead at the 7:15 mark of the first half.

Godfrey Miheso scored from inside the box on a high shot just beyond the reach of RSU goalkeeper Sean Surridge in the 22nd minute, but the Warriors could not get any closer. Surridge posted three saves as the Hillcats tacked on two second half goals. Fitzgerald found the back of the net from the left side of the box in the 68th minute and Henrique Sousa drove home a goal from the right side in the 75th minute.

Rogers State (6-1) will host a pair of home matches this weekend at Soldier Field. The Hillcats will welcome Southwestern Christian to Claremore Friday at 8 p.m. and Ottawa University Sunday at 3 p.m.
