RSU Soccer Women Pound Pioneers, 4-0

PLAINVIEW, Texas - Two days removed from their first loss of the season, the Rogers State Hillcats responded with a dominating, 4-0 road victory over Wayland Baptist Tuesday afternoon in Plainview, Texas.

Junior Shereen Clarke scored two goals and added an assist as the Cats scored all four goals in the first half to record their first Sooner Athletic Conference win of the year. Clarke converted a penalty kick in the fourth minute of the match to put RSU in front, 1-0. Kimmia Parker, who missed the last three games due to injury, picked up right where she left off. Parker scored on a header in the 11th minute off a corner kick from Abby Farrar, giving her 12 goals for the season.

Clarke setup Brittney McDonald for a goal in the 27th minute and then added the final strike of the match less than two minutes later on an assist from Kendall Clement. Coach Derek Larkin emptied his bench in the second half while RSU goalie Bailey Lynn preserved the shutout with a season-high 12 saves.

The Hillcats will take three days off before traveling to Oklahoma City University Saturday for a 6 p.m. match.
