Hillcats Earn Crucial Road Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Rogers State men's soccer team ended a five-game road stint with a 1-0 win over Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Oklahoma City University at Stars Field.

An unassisted goal by freshman Steven Baker in the 70th minute lifted the Hillcats past the Stars. The Tulsa, Okla. native shot from the left side of the field, drilling the ball into the left corner of the net. It was his third goal of the season.

Senior Sean Surridge delivered a shutout in goal, making six saves.

The Stars took 13 shots, putting six on frame while the Hillcats took four shots, three on goal.

OCU goalkeeper Andy Fitzpatrick takes the loss in the net, making two saves.

The win marks the ninth straight victory for the Hillcats (9-1-1, 3-0 SAC) who will return to Soldier Field on Saturday, Oct. 9, facing conference opponent Oklahoma Baptist University at 7 p.m.
