SHERMAN, Texas - Senior Chase Walker scored in the 93rd minute to give the Rogers State men's soccer team a 1-0 overtime victory against Austin College on Sunday afternoon.
Walker headed the ball past AC goalkeeper Grant Gosselin off a corner kick by T.J. Martin less than three minutes into the overtime period. The goal was the senior's second game-winner of the season.
The Hillcats posted 18 shots, putting seven shots on frame in the contest. Freshman Jeremy Swift recorded the shutout win for the Cats as he made six saves. The win marked the Hillcats fifth shutout victory of the season.
Gosselin received the loss in goal as he made six saves and allowed one goal. AC fired 15 shots in the game and put six of them on goal.
Rogers State (5-2) will kick off Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday as they face Wayland Baptist at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast live at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
