PLAINVIEW, Texas - The Rogers State men's soccer team registered a double overtime tie for the third consecutive time this season on Saturday as the Hillcats settled for a 2-2 draw at Wayland Baptist.
The Hillcat battle their way back into the game after falling behind 2-0. Necas Collins put RSU on the board in the 60th minute as he converted a penalty kick and cut the deficit in half. The Kingston, Jamaica native registered the equalizer five minutes later, finding the back of the net off a defensive deflection.
The Hillcats tallied the only shot during the 20 minutes of overtime. Once again it was Collins who took the shot but fired it just wide.
The Pioneers outshot the Cats 12-6 and posted five shots on goal while RSU managed just two shots on frame.
Rogers State (5-6-3,1-1-3) returns to the pitch on Friday as the Cats host John Brown at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com.
