PLAINVIEW, Texas - The Rogers State women's soccer team rounded out its West Texas holiday with a 2-0 win over Wayland Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the Hillcats reached the 10-win mark for the sixth consecutive season.
The teams battled to a scoreless draw in the opening half but the Hillcats snapped the tie with 31 minutes to play in the second stanza as freshman Taylor Hallford curved a corner kick into the box where there was a scramble, resulting in an own goal to give RSU a 1-0 lead.
With two minutes to play in the contest, senior Lauren Hager put the game away with her fifth goal of the season. Rachel Coen shot the ball but WBU goalkeeper Courtney Chambers blocked it and it landed at Hager's feet. She collected it and slotted it past the keeper.
Junior Jordan Harris registered the shutout win in goal for the Hillcats. The Claremore, Okla. native recorded four saves on the afternoon.
