Eagles Edge Hillcats, 2-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Southwestern Christian took an early lead and held on for the 2-0 win as the Eagles handed the Rogers State men's soccer team its first loss of the season on Tuesday afternoon in Bethany, Okla.

RSU blasted 13 shots with five on goal but was unable to find the back of the net. The Eagles made the most of their two shots on frame, converting both of them into goals.

Chris Galindo gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the game, finishing a shot amongst a scramble in the box. RSU goalkeeper Nathan Inger made the initial save fired on goal but was not able to hold onto it. The ball fell to Galindo's feet who blasted it into the goal.

The Eagles sealed the win in the 72nd minutes as Nicholas Guest slotted the ball past Inger to make it a 2-0 game.

Inger suffered the loss in goal for RSU while Chris Muter earned the win for SCU with five saves.

Rogers State (1-1) returns to action on September 4 as the Cats travel to Oklahoma Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
