No. 16 Trojans Top Hillcats, 3-1

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to No. 16 Hannibal-LaGrange on Friday night at Soldier Field in Claremore.

The Trojans took an early lead, scoring their first goal in the third minute of play. Jose Vidal and Felipe Silva threaded the ball through the defense to Joao Junqueira who ran onto it and slotted it past RSU keeper Nathan Inger back post.

The Hillcats settled into the game and battled back, getting the equalizer in the 21st minute of play. Danko Kenjic sent a corner kick into the box where Bryan Jones headed the ball towards the goal for Necas Collins who headed it past the keeper.

The teams were knotted 1-1 at intermission but the Trojans wasted no time regaining the lead after the break. Once again it was Junqueira who put the ball in the back of the net to give them the advantage in the 52nd.

Agustin Concha sealed the win for the Trojans five minutes later, blasting the ball upper 90 on the back post to make it a 3-1 game.

The Hillcats were unable to capitalize on their chance as they fired six shots on frame and only converted one goal.

Rogers State (2-4) returns to action on Tuesday as the Cats host Friends (Kan.) at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
