WICHITA, Kan. - The Rogers State men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss in the season finale at Newman on Saturday night.

The Jets took a 1-0 advantage in in the ninth minute of the game as Luca Anelli converted a penalty kick to put NU in front. The lead was short-lived as Danko Kenjic answered with his sixth goal of the season, firing a free kick just over the goalkeepers head from 45 yards out.

In an evenly matched game, neither team was able to earn the equalizer in regulation despite the Hillcats edging the Jets in shots in the second frame, 6-5. Both teams registered 10 shots in the contest and NU's Jamie Barkway put the game away in the 104th minute with his second goal of the season.

Joey Arnold suffered the loss in goal for the Hillcats, allowing two goals while making three saves. Steven Hamersky earned the win in goal for NU, making four saves while allowing one goal.

Rogers State (7-10, 3-5 HC) closed out its second season in the Heartland Conference and five seniors ended their time in RSU red and navy. Necas Collins finishes his three-year career tied for the most career assists dishing out seven in his senior season along with one goal, matching his single-season assist record set in 2013. Austin Sexton tallied six goals and two assist in his final season, Whellyn Carroll and Devin Zvosec each registered one goal and one assist on the year while Walter Hubbard dished out two assists.
