SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Rogers State women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at St. Mary's on Thursday evening at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
Randye Sharp took the first shot of the game in the third minute but it sailed just over the goal. In the 27th minute,
Taylor Williams took a shot that went just over the crossbar.
The Rattlers took the 1-0 advantage just before halftime with a goal off a Haleigh Lombardo free kick from 30 yards out in the 39th minute. It was the freshman's first career goal. StMU clung to the one-goal lead at intermission.
Hillcats fended off the Rattler offense for most of the second stanza but StMU doubled its lead in the 85th minute with Kristal Williams' fifth goal of the season. Williams sealed the Rattler win in the 90th minute with a header from six yards out.
Taylor Stover was tagged with the loss in goal, making six saves while allowing three goals. Caitlin McCarrell and Alyssa Taramona combined for the shutout win in goal for the Rattlers.
Rogers State (0-14, 0-7 HC) returns to the pitch Saturday as the Hillcats travel to Laredo, Texas for a match against Texas A&M International at 2:30 p.m.
