CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State Cheerleading coach Matt Hinds has announced two opportunities for tryouts for the Hillcat cheer squad. The two tryout dates are Saturday, April 23 and Saturday, May 21 on the University's Claremore campus.
 
The tryouts will take place at Bushyhead Fieldhouse from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on each date. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Judges will be looking for cheerleaders with stunting experience as a base or flyer, ability to perform triple jump combination, a running round-off series, a standing back handspring and an understanding of tumbling skills. Those trying out will also perform a cheer that will be taught during the tryouts.
 
There will be two open practice dates on Thursday, April 21 and Thursday, May 19. Both practices start at 8:30 p.m. at Bushyhead Fieldhouse.
