Two Late Goals Down Hillcats at St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Rogers State men's soccer team fell, 2-1, to St. Mary's with the Rattlers scoring two late goals to earn the victory on Saturday at Sigma Beta Chi Field.

The visiting Hillcats gained an early 1-0 advantage due to a Kevin Kwarteng tally in the 14th minute. The junior forward cleaned up in front of the goal after a loose ball ended up at his feet. The goal was Kwarteng's second of the season.

StMU put in two goals in the final 19 minutes to rally for the victory. The Rattlers tied the score at 1-1 in the 72nd minute when StMU's Tommy Forgarty Cameron deflected in a cross from JM Villarreal for the even score. Pato Botello Faz of StMU scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute as he got around RSU goalkeeper Walker Farrar to his right and scored on an open goal for the 2-1 lead.

The host Rattlers held a sizable advantage on shots, 17-9, with 14 shots on goal. RSU totaled nine shots and five shots on target. Kwarteng and Jaxon Pitt paced the Hillcats with two shots apiece.
