SAN ANTON IO, Texas – The Rogers State softball team fell, 4-0, to No. 6-ranked St. Mary's on Saturday (March 25) at the Park at St. Mary's in the final game of a three-game Heartland Conference series.

The Rattlers scored their runs in the third and fifth innings, totaling two runs in each. Lead-off hitter Hannah Michel singled through the infield to put StMU up, 1-0, in the third inning. StMU scored the second run of the inning with an RBI groundout for the 2-0 edge.

The Hillcat bats didn't get going until the sixth inning when the navy and red totaled three hits. Katelyn Gamble started the inning with a bunt single for RSU's first hit of the game. With the Cats back to the top of the lineup, Harli Wheeler put two runners on after her single up the middle. Gamble and Wheeler advanced to second and third after a ground out by Kenzi Lloyd, but RSU couldn't capitalize as the inning ended on a fly out to left field.

RSU put two on again in the seventh inning, but couldn't score a run in the last opportunity for the Cats. Taylor Santistevan worked a walk to open the inning. After a fly out, Ali Turner singled up the middle for runners at first and second with one out. Again back-to-back outs ended the inning and the scoring chance for the Hillcats.
