BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Rogers State men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory at Southwest Baptist on Sunday (Sept. 10) at Plaster Stadium in the Hillcats' final nonconference game of the season.

Freshman Jaxon Pitt scored his second straight game-winning goal as the midfielder from Edmond, Oklahoma headed in the first goal in the 42nd minute for a 1-0 advantage. Pitt tallied the game-winning goal on Thursday in a 1-0 victory over Fort Hays State, his first career collegiate goal. The freshman now leads the team with two goals in four games.

In the final 20 minutes of the contest, the visiting Hillcats poured it on with three goals. Senior Declan Fitzpatrick scored his first goal in the navy and red with a header in the 71st minute to put the Cats up 2-0. Freshman Jesus Ramirez earned the assist on the goal. Just over a minute later, RSU struck again with Jordan Watson's first goal of the season. The unassisted goal increased the advantage to 3-0 in the 72nd minute. Senior Roman Gutierrez put in the final RSU goal, his first career goal as a Hillcat, in the 89th minute for the final 4-0 margin.

The navy and red completed dominated all aspects of the game, especially in the final 45 minutes. The Cats held an impressive 20-2 lead in shots in the second half and finished the game with a 28-3 edge in shots overall. RSU placed 12 shots on target, including the four goals, while the Bearcats managed two shots on goal. The Hillcats also totaled 11 corner kicks as host SBU couldn't total one corner kick all game.
