ORLANDO, Fla. – The Rogers State dance team finished in 16th place at the 2018 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from Jan. 12-14.
The Hillcats placed 16th out of 24 teams in the Open Division with a hip hop routine at the championships.
"I'm proud of how far the girls have progressed as individual dancers this season," RSU Head Dance Coach
Amy Alt said. "This year's squad is very young with six newcomers and only five veteran returners, which was very challenging and rewarding, but being just a two-year program competing in the most prestigious competition is great. We're very thankful for the opportunity to represent our Hillcats in the most prestigious competition in the nation. I'm really looking forward to the years to come competing at Nationals as this dance program continues to strengthen and grow."
The Hillcats competed in the UDA National Championships for the second straight year. In the 2017 nationals, RSU placed 13th.
