LCU Snaps Hillcats' 5-Game Unbeaten Streak

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Rogers State men's soccer team's five-game unbeaten streak was snapped with a 1-0 loss at Lubbock Christian on Saturday (Oct. 13) at John Walker Complex at Texas Tech.
 
The Chaps (7-3-3, 5-2-3 Heartland Conference) scored the only goal of the game early in the second half on a header off a corner kick. LCU's Ivan Muanze-Bengono headed in the game-winning goal in the 56th minute.
 
The Hillcats (7-5-2, 5-3-2 Heartland) held a huge advantage in shots with a 20-9 edge, including a 13-5 margin in the first half, but the visiting team couldn't net a goal. RSU put seven shots on goal compared to only three from the Chaps.
 
Chris Sowder totaled a game-high five shots with one on goal. Kevin Kwarteng put two shots on goal and tallied four shots in the game.
 
Jazz Dhaliwal made the start in goal and made two saves in the 90 minutes. He allowed the one goal in the loss.
 
Heading into today's game, RSU had a five-game unbeaten streak, going 3-0-2 in its last five games in league play.
 
The Hillcats end the regular season with three of their final four games at Soldier Field. The stretch starts with Oklahoma Christian on Thursday (Oct. 18) at 7:30 p.m. in Claremore. Live stats and video streaming will be available.
