FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Rogers State Track & Field programs set two school records Friday night at the Arkansas Qualifier hosted at the Randall Tyson Track on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Baffour Kyem set a new school record in the Triple Jump and
Audrianna Morgan,
Jaylen Hogue,
Tizhane Brooks and
Tamaya Tutson teamed up for a record in the 4x400 relay.
Kyem broke his own record in the Triple Jump, clearing a distance of 14.30 meters or 46 feet, 11 inches. Kyem initially broke the record with his first jump of 14.14 meters but cleared 14.30 in his second of five jumps to finish in fifth place overall.
Morgan, Hogue, Brooks and Tutson finished in third overall in the 4x400-meter Relay with a time of 3:50.49. Their time also set an NCAA Provisional time and is tied for the 22
nd fastest time in the country. The group beat teams from Oklahoma State and Wichita State.
Morgan also ran in the 60-meter Dash at the event, finishing eighth overall with a time of 7.78.
On the men's side,
D'Jiron Lilley and
Alfred Thomas also competed for the Hillcats. Lilley ran fourth overall in the 60-meter Dash preliminaries with a 6.92. Thomas ran sixth overall in the preliminaries, finishing with a 6.94.
Lilley would run a 6.92 again in the finals, finishing sixth overall.
Lilley would also run in the 200-meter Dash, finishing fourth overall with a 22.00.
Rogers State will return to action next week, competing in the Great American Conference Indoor Championship in Norman, Oklahoma on February 22 and 23.
