CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State Baseball dropped the rubber match of the Heartland Conference series with St. Edward's on Saturday, falling 16-3 at the Diamond Sports Complex.

After a scoreless first inning, the Hillcats fell behind as St. Edward's took the lead on a single and then added two more runs curtesy of a Hillcat error.

St. Edward's used another error from Rogers State in the third inning to fuel a four-run inning, as the Hilltoppers went ahead 7-0. Another two-out error in the fourth allowed one more run for the visitors.

The Hillcats would get two runs back in the bottom of the fourth inning as
Griffin Keller hit a two-run homerun to right field, bringing around
Nick Follett who had reached on a hit-by-pitch.

Another error from the Hillcats in the fifth aided in two more runs for the visitors. Rogers State would get one run back from an error in the bottom of the fifth, as
Blake Chiaramonte scored when
Zack Mann reached on a throwing error.

St. Edward's would add two more runs in the sixth and four in the seventh.

Preston Whitten was dealt the loss, allowing seven runs, three earned, on nine hits in 2.2 innings of work.
