LUBBOCK, Texas – Rogers State Baseball dropped the final game of the series with No. 21 Lubbock Christian on Saturday, falling 12-0 to the Heartland Conference leaders.
After splitting with the Chaps on Friday, the Hillcats fell behind in the second inning as the hosts capitalized on an error to score five runs in the second.
Lubbock Christian added four more runs in the third inning, capitalizing on another Hillcat error.
Rogers State was held to just three hits in the game, two coming from Dylan Russel with the other one off the bat of
Christian Merriwether.
Zack Mann and
Grant Farris each had two walks in the game.
Preston Whitten picked up the loss, allowing seven runs, five earned, in two innings of work.
The Hillcats will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Missouri to face the College of the Ozarks. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. in the non-conference game in Branson.
