Rogers State held the lead through the remainder of the first half, outshooting the Crimson Storm (1-3-0) 15-0 over the first 45 minutes.

However, the game made a quick turn in the second half as the teams combined to score seven goals, including five in the final 10 minutes. Southern Nazarene tied the game up at 1-1 less than six minutes into the second half.

The game would remain at 2-1 for nearly 30 minutes before the flurry of goals started with a tying effort from Southern Nazarene in the 81st minute to make it 2-2.

Less than 90 seconds later, Watters was on the other side of a goal scoring play, firing into the lower right to put RSU back in front 3-2.

As they had done twice already, the hosts would answer right back to tie the game.

Rogers State would respond, generating a scoring chance that drew a penalty for the Hillcats. Gaspar tucked the penalty away to put the Hillcats back in front in the 84th minute.

This time, the Hillcats would finish off the Crimson Storm, scoring 38 seconds later as Theodore grabbed her second goal of the game to seal the victory.
