EDMOND, Okla. – The Rogers State Women's Soccer team fell on the road Friday night at No. 15 Central Oklahoma, dropping the final non-conference game of the season 4-1 at Tom Thompson Field.
The Hillcats fell behind quickly in the contest as the hosts scored two goals inside the first six minutes of the game. Kelsie Eason scored both goals for the Bronchos, with the first coming at 1:52 and the second coming at 5:34.
Central Oklahoma would outshoot Rogers State 15-2 in the first 45 minutes. Goalkeeper
ReVella Fisher stopped two shots over the final 40 minutes of the half.
Central Oklahoma would add to their lead early in the second half, Asha Haile, who assisted both goals in the first half would score two goals exactly two minutes apart to extend the Bronchos lead to 4-0. Haile's goals came at 57:21 and 59:21.
Rogers State would get one goal back and avoid the shutout in the 73
rd minute. Junior
Hannah Mushisky would score her second goal of the season with an unassisted effort from the top of the box.
Fisher would finish with four saves in the second half, wrapping the game with six stops overall.
Rogers State will remain on the road to begin MIAA play at Newman University. The Hillcats will look to avenge a 3-0 loss in non-conference play last week to the Jets. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Wichita, Kansas.
