Women's Soccer Announces 2021 Freshmen Signee Class

CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State Women's Soccer team and head coach Josh Smith have announced the initial signee class for the 2021-22 academic year.
 
The class features nine newcomers and features future Hillcats from four states; Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as one international from England.
 
 
Brooke Amos

Amos will join the Hillcats from nearby Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Energy FC product plays primarily as a midfielder under head coach Gareth Evans. Amos has played the last two years with the OEFC in the development academy league and spent one season prior to that in the girls academy league. The 5'6 midfielder also plays at the high school level for Union High School under Jamie Rozell, where she has earned several honors, including Union's freshman of the year. Brooke's family has a soccer pedigree. Her sister, Bri, plays collegiately for the University of Oklahoma and her brother, Bradley, played at the University of Central Arkansas.
 
"Brooke is an exciting local addition!  She has played at a top level in Oklahoma.  Her hard working, tough mentality will make a quick impact in our strong midfield.  She is versatile which role she can play."
 
 
Addison Anaya

Anaya will come to College Hill from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Rio Rapids product has trained primarily as a forward under the direction of Simon Rothman for Rio Rapids. Anaya helped lead the Rapids to a state cup in 2019. She finished last year ranked second in the state in goals for the age level and third in assists. Anaya also played under head coach Amy Fankham at Hope Christian High School where she is a two-time all-state performer, including first team honors last season. As a sophomore she helped lead the team to a district championship and state runner-up. The 5'5 forward scored 24 goals in 22 games for Hope Christian in 2019-20 and also had 12 assists. In 59 total games over three seasons at the high school level, Anaya has 39 career goals and 20 assists, registering 98 career points.
 
"Addie is a quick, dynamic forward.  She can play centrally or wide and has a great work rate.  Her ability to stretch teams, beat players 1v1, and find the back of the net is fantastic.  She will complement our forwards very well!"
 
 
Tiffany Brittan

Brittan is the only international in the signee class and she will come to Claremore from Beeston, England. The 5'5 goalkeeper will come to the Hillcats after playing in the Derby County FC Ladies academy setup since age 12. While with Derby County, Brittan has helped the Ewe Rams to several academy league championships, including the u16 championship. Last year, Brittan and the Derby County Reserves were on track to a league championship prior to the season being shut down due to COVID-19. Brittan most recently attended secondary school at Chilwell School and attended the Friesland School prior to that.
 
"Tiff is a technical goalkeeper coming to us by way of Derby.  Her ability to utilize her feet and communicate with her back line are fantastic.  She is confident and will come in and compete well!"
 
 
Alison Day

Day is another local product and will join the navy and red from Sand Springs, Oklahoma. The goalkeeper plays at the club level for the West Side Alliance Soccer Club under head coach David Bolding. Day helped lead WSA to a state championship last year, as well as a trip to the national championships in Colorado. At the high school level, Day has started since her freshman year at Charles Page High School for head coaches Matt Miller and now Matthew Watkins. Day has been a team captain all four years and was named the team's player of the year as a sophomore. Day also plays basketball at Charles Page.
 
"Ali is another exciting local player!  She is a blue collar, hardworking goalkeeper.  She thrives on snagging balls out of the air and disrupting crosses.  She is growing daily and will come in and compete hard!"
 
 
Karina Gonzalez

Gonzalez will join the Hillcats from Las Vegas, Nevada where she played for the last four years at the club level for Heat FC under Eric McDonald in the Elite Clubs National League. Gonzalez was named an ECNL Standout Player of the Month by Top Drawer Soccer for March of 2019. She was also an ECNL Conference Selection Program Invitee each of the last two seasons. A member of the Nevada State team for the Olympic Development Program, Gonzalez earned all-star honors from the ODP. Prior to Heat FC, the trained midfielder and forward played for the Las Vegas Sports Academy for four seasons. Gonzalez also played for Green Valley High School under head coach Brittany Day.
 
"Karina is a very hard-working attacking player.  She is athletic and scrappy but also technical and creative.  She has the versatility to play a few different roles and has a strong desire to compete and win."
 
 
Savannah Harvey

Harvey will come to Claremore as one of four newcomers from Texas. The Weatherford, Texas native played for the Solar Soccer Club in the ECNL, as well as the Elite Clubs Regional League, under the direction of Ben Williams for the last two seasons. At Solar, the 5'8 goalkeeper plays with fellow Hillcat signees Amaris Jasso and Ashton Shepperson. Harvey was named a girl's development academy weekly standout on three separate occasions in the last two years. Harvey also played for the Dallas Texans for three seasons prior to Solar. With the Dallas Texans, Harvey helped the program to No. 4 in the country at the u15 level. At the high school level, Harvey plays for Weatherford High School and the Kangaroos under head coach Laura Bailey. Harvey is also in the choir, where she earned all-region honors for soprano and sat first chair for the last three years.
 
"Savvy is a great addition to our goalkeeping unit!  She has had fantastic training and played for top level teams.  She is athletic, doesn't shy away from any shot, and is willing to compete every day she steps on the field!"
 
 
Emerie Jones

Jones comes to College Hill from McKinney, Texas where she plays at the club level for FC Dallas Red under coach James Fondren. Jones, a 5'2 midfielder and forward has spent five years with FC Dallas and spent four years prior to that with the Texas Spirit. She also spent seven years with Liverpool. At the high school level, Jones was named the team MVP as a freshman and led Liberty High School to a state playoff berth in her sophomore campaign. Under head coach Elizabeth Mokler, Jones earned all-district honors after a shortened junior season where she led the team to a 7-2-2 record before the season was cancelled.
 
"Emerie is a blue-collar utility player!  She can play in the midfield or out wide.  She doesn't know the word quit.  No matter which role she is in, she competes hard and finds success in that role!"
 
 
Amaris Jasso

Jasso, a Princeton, Texas native will join the navy and red from Solar Soccer Club, where she has been with the club for seven years and has played alongside fellow Hillcat signees Savannah Harvey and Ashton Shepperson under Ben Williams. The 5'3 midfielder also played at Princeton High School, where she has been a two-year captain and was named the district newcomer of the year, team's top offensive player and the MVP. Jasso led Princeton to the district championship in 2017 and 2018.
 
"Amaris is a creative cm or wide player.  She is extremely technical, fantastic 1v1, creates great scoring chances, and is extremely creative.  She is scrappy, never stops working, and continually looks to pull the best out of herself and her team."
 
 
Ashton Shepperson

Shepperson wraps up the class of freshman signees and will come to Rogers State from Frisco, Texas. The Solar Soccer Club product played on the backline under the direction of Ben Williams alongside fellow Hillcat signees Amaris Jasso and Savannah Harvey. The defender stands at 5'6 and also played for
Wakeland High School under Jimmy Langford. At Wakeland, Shepperson was the team captain and earned first team all-district and second team all-region honors.
 
"Ashton is a top-level defender.  She is fantastic 1v1, strong, and quick.  She communicates well and looks for opportunities to go forward.  Ashton does not shy away from physicality and thrives on competition!"
