NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Running in a last chance meet on Thursday, Rogers State freshman
Julius Oheim claimed a victory in the 5,000-Meter Run at the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College.
The Halle Saale, Germany native won the event by 4.03 seconds, as he crossed the line with a 15:11.24 to claim his first collegiate victory. Oheim also set a new personal best with the time, breaking his previous best of time of 15:12.28 in the event set on April 24 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
The time also moved Oheim into second on the all-time list for fastest freshman in the 5,000-Meter Run at Rogers State.
Rogers State will have one runner competing on Friday at the Dr. Keeler Invitational, as
Nick Williams will run in the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase. The event is set to get underway at 3:00 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
