EDMOND, Okla. – Rogers State men's and women's cross country competed at the UCO Broncho Classic on Saturday.
In the men's 8k race, the Hillcats won the meet with 26 points and an average time of 29:19.52.
RSU had three runners finish in the top 10. Morne Scharnick led the squad in fourth place with a time of 28:39.02. Ian Busking finished eighth with a time of 29:26.59. Blaine Phillippi finished ninth with a time of 29:26.99. Nathan Hernandez finished 11th with a time of 29:30.58. Collin McHugh finished 14th with time of 29:34.42. Ty Rupert finished 16th with a time of 30:24.43. Blake Phillippi rounded out the scoring with a finish in 20th with a time of 31:11.90. Joseph White and Colton Storm also ran with times of 31:25.27 and 31:32.90, respectively.
In the women's 6k, the Hillcats finished fourth with 79 points and an average time of 26:52.43.
Tori Wood led the squad in sixth with a new personal best time of 24:21.19. Cadence Schockemoehl finished 14th with a time of 25:20.82. Ronnie Jones finished 15th with a time of 25:36.62. Sara Crosley finished 28th with a time of 29:06.42. Elizabeth Ostermaier rounded out the scoring with a finish in 30th with a time of 29:57.06.
The Hillcats will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as they close out the regular season in Huntsville, Ala. as they compete in the UAH DII Festival Year Showcase. The first race is scheduled to start at 7:45 a.m.
