Men's Cross Country

Hillcat Women Finish Fourth, Men Finish Ninth At MIAA Cross Country Championships

JOPLIN, Mo. – Rogers State men's and women's cross country competed at the MIAA Cross Country Championships at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on Saturday.
 
In the women's 6k run, RSU finished in fourth place with 95 points and an average time of 22:01.80. Three Hillcats earned All-MIAA honors for their performances with Katie Byrd being named to the All-
MIAA team and Brianna DeAngelis and Madison Bradshaw earning Honorable Mention honors.
 
Byrd led the Hillcats in ninth place with a new school record time of 21:35.75, surpassing Jillian Skalicky's best time of 22:01.2 set last year. Brianna DeAngelis finished in 15th with a new personal best time of 21:56.55, which is good for second best in school history. Madison Bradshaw finished right behind in 16th with a new personal best time of 21:56.60, which is good for third best in school history. Gloria Butts finished 22nd with a new personal best time of 22:10.86, which is good for sixth best in school history. Tori Wood finished 33rd with a new personal best time of 22:29.25, which is good for eighth best in school history. Riley Coleman finished 40th with a new personal best time of 22:41.29, which is good for 10th best in school history. Ashley Riggenbach rounded out the team scoring in 54th with a time of 23:13.57. Elena Fries finished in 62nd with a new personal best time of 23:27.64. Jillian Skalicky finished in 66th with a time of 23:34.69. Cadence Schockemoehl finished 73rd with a new personal best time of 23:45.11.
 
In the men's 8k, the Hillcats finished in ninth place with 234 points and an average time of 25:41.06.
 
Julius Oheim led RSU in 39th place with a time of 25:18.64. Eric Ragan finished 46th with a new personal best time of 25:35.73. Kory Wilson finished in 50th with a new personal best time of 25:46.77. Blake Feron finished 54th with a time of 25:50.45. Hunter Hart finished 59th with a new personal best time of 25:53.73. Caden Goss finished in 64th with a time of 25:59.71. Morne Scharnick rounded out the team scoring with a time of 26:09.50. Jon Biersdorfer finished 83rd with a new personal best time of 26:26.45. Carlos Vallejo finished in 85th with a time of 26:31.46.
 
The Hillcats will now turn their attention to the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 19 as they return to Joplin, Mo. and the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
