TULSA, Okla. – Rogers State women's cross country won the inaugural RSU Invitational to open the 2022 season with the men finishing second on Thursday.
 
In the women's 4k, the Hillcats won the meet with 20 team points, ahead of Missouri Southern and John Brown University. Madison Bradshaw paced the squad as she finished second with a time of 14:28.96. Gloria Butts was next in third with a time of 14:33.29. Jillian Skalicky was right behind in fourth with a time of 14:34.76. Katie Byrd finished fifth with a time of 14:37.82. Brianna DeAngelis finished sixth with a time of 14:41.29. Riley Coleman finished 11th with a time of 15:14.61. Elena Fries rounded out the scoring group with a time of 15:14.61.
 
On the men's side, RSU finished second in the 6k race with 39 total points, behind Missouri Southern and ahead of East Central and John Brown. Blake Feron led the Hillcats with a third place finish and a time of 18:48.03. Julius Oheim was next in sixth place with a time of 18:56.73. Carlos Vallejo finished 10th with a time of 19:19.67. Caden Goss was right behind in 11th with a time of 19:20.42. Eric Ragan finished 12th with a time of 19:21.24. Hunter Hart finished in 17th with a time of 19:37.29. Morne Scharnick rounded out the scoring group with a time of 19:42.92.
 
The Hillcats will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17 as they travel to Joplin, Mo. to compete in the Southern Stampede. The meet is set to begin 8:30 a.m. at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
