CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's soccer (4-3-2, 1-1 MIAA) dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to Washburn (7-1-1, 2-0 MIAA) on Friday.

The Ichabods took control of the game early on as they had five shots in the first 16 minutes. The Hillcats slowly began to make some strides as they built up four shots in the period. However, in the 41st minute Washburn's Haley Rogers poked a ball just beyond
Tiffany Brittan at the mouth of the goal to put the Ichadbods up 1-0.

In the second half, RSU became more aggressive on offensive but, couldn't get anything to fall. In the period, the Hillcats managed to outshoot Washburn 10-4 with four shots on goal compared to three. RSU's best scoring opportunity came in 67th minute as
Sarah Ovalle took a penalty kick only for the WU keeper to save it.

The Hillcats will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 25 as they play host to Emporia State. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
