TYLER, Texas – Rogers State women's soccer (2-2) fell 2-1 to UT Tyler (2-0) to close out the first road trip of the season on Saturday.
 
Maggie Brown scored the lone goal for the Hillcats in the game. 
Cambree Towle (0-2) saved eight shots in goal with two goals allowed.
 
The match opened with both teams getting offensive changes early in the game. RSU broke through as Brown found the back of the net off a pass from 
Mackenzie Smith in the fourth minute to put the Hillcats up 1-0. From there, the Patriots cranked up the offensive pressure as they would outshoot RSU 11-1 in the period, with four shots on goal compared to one. UTT netted the equalizer in the 36th minute to send the game into the half tied at 1-1.
 
The second half was more of the same as the Patriots kept up the pressure and limited the Hillcats offensive chances. UTT out shot RSU 14-4 in the final 45 minutes, with six shots on goal compared to one. The Patriots would seal the 2-1 victory in the 85th minute as they fired in the game winner.
 
The Hillcats will return home to Soldier Field on Thursday, Sept. 9 as they host rival Northeastern State in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
