WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Rogers State women's soccer (4-5-2, 1-3-0 MIAA) fell in a 4-0 decision to No. 8 Central Missouri (8-2-1, 3-0-1 MIAA) on Friday.
Tiffany Brittan (3-5, 1-3 MIAA) made six saves on the night, while allowing four goals.
The Jennies wasted no time as they immediately went on the attack, scoring 25 seconds into the match to take an early 1-0 lead. In the 12th minute, a Hillcat defender attempted to intercept and clear out a UCM cross into the box only for the ball to go careening off her foot and land just inside the left post of the goal to set the score at 2-0. The Jennies added a third goal in the 29th minute. UCM managed to outshoot RSU 8-2 in the period.
In the second half, things settled down considerably with the Jennies still commanding the pace of the game. They again outshot the Hillcats 10-1, and added one final goal in the 66th minute to increase the lead to 4-0. RSU's lone shot on goal came late in the game in the 87th minute as Taylor Youniacutt fired in a shot only to have it saved by the UCM keeper.
The Hillcats will close out the four-match road trip on Sunday as they travel to Joplin, Mo. to face off against Missouri Southern. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
