CLAREMORE, Okla. – No. 21 Rogers State men's soccer (7-2-2, 4-1 GAC/MIAA) did not allow Harding (3-8-1, 1-5 GAC/MIAA) to score a goal on Saturday, as the Hillcats defeated the Bison at home.

Three Hillcats scored goals in this contest.
Erik Hjertsson,
Trindon Turner and
Marcos Vasallo each scored goals.
Luke Morgan tallied two assists, and
Ruben Carrasco and
Hugo Martin both recorded an assist apiece.
Declan Viljoen (6-2) added another win and his third clean sheet of the season as he made six saves.

In the first half, the Hillcats outshot Harding 12-4. It was a scoreless affair until the 33rd minute when Hjertsson broke the stalemate with a brilliant goal off quick passes from Morgan and Carrasco. A minute later, Morgan played the ball into the box on a corner kick and Turner scored off a header. Harding created chances to score, but could not capitalize, resulting in a 2-0 score at halftime.

The second half saw Rogers State continue to dominate on offense and smother Harding on defense, as they outshot the Bison 13-3. Vasallo scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 63rd minute with an assist by Martin to seal the 3-0 victory.

The Hillcats have a big conference road game on Thursday, Sept. 7 as they travel to Bethany, Okla. to take on Southern Nazarene, who is the only conference loss for the Hillcats this season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
