CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State Head Softball Coach
Andrea Vaughan has been invited as a featured presenter at this year's National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Convention.
Â
"I have always dreamed of this opportunity, but I never thought it would actually become a reality," said Vaughan. "I am excited about the exposure that this will bring to our university and to our softball program, and I am honored to represent Rogers State on a national level."
Â
The convention is set to take place Dec. 6-9 in Louisville, Ky. and will celebrate the organization's 40th anniversary. As part of the event, Vaughan will be presenting at a seminar entitled "Creating A Complementary Pitching Staff" alongside four other coaches, including Arizona's Christian Conrad, Northwestern's Michelle Gascoigne, Tennessee's Megan Rhodes-Smith and Division III Illinois Wesleyan's Nikki Miller. The seminar will cover planning creative bullpens, designing game plans for each opponent, recruiting principles for diversifying pitchers and creating a cohesive culture.
Â
Andrea Vaughan has built Rogers State into a Division II pitching powerhouse as she begins her ninth season in 2024. She is responsible for molding Hillcat legend
Andrea Morales into a two-time All-American and 2022 NFCA National Pitcher of the Year, while breaking every pitching school record en route to RSU's first-ever National Championship. More recently, Vaughan helped guide
Sara Llamas-Howell to the 2023 MIAA Pitcher of the Year and NFCA Second Team All-American honors.
